Dwadasa

Dwadasa forms part of the table of Saptavaga in a horoscope. In Dwadasa each Rasi is divided into 12 parts and the location of each planet in such sub-divisions is indicated.

The other such tables displayed in the Saptavarga are :-
Hora – each Rasi sub divided into 2 equal parts;
Drekkana – each Rasi sub divided into 3 equal parts;
Saptamsa - each Rasi sub divided into 7 equal parts;
Triamsamsa - each Rasi sub divided into 30 equal parts;

These are in addition to Rasi and Navamsa.

The word Dwadasa has also a different connotation in respect of the matching of two horoscopes. It is used in the expression Dwadasa Poruttham, which means the 12 items of matching.
