A particular planet is said to be the ruler of a zodiacal sign, or owner of the sign, and it is called the Lord of that house. The Sun and the Moon are Lords of the signs Leo and Cancer respectively. The other planets are Lords of 2 signs each as shown in the Table below.
The influence of a planet is said to change depending upon whether it is in its own house, or in the house of another planet, who is friendly, equal or enemical.
