Almanacs may be classified as - Astronomical, Nautical, Land Surveyor's, Star Almanac, and so on. Common almanacs consulted by people to check the details of tithi, star, etc. are known as Panchaang.
The almanacs generally list the daily details pertaining to the position of the Sun, the Moon, and the planets, and also the star(nakshatra), tithi, yoga, etc.
These almanacs contain data listed year wise; and one needs to purchase one for every year.
They are also computed based on the latitude of some chosen place in a country and so may not be correct for far away places.
But the Almanac or Panchaang provided in this package of software, once purchased, is a life-time investment. This will go on listing the almanac details, day after day, year after year, and as seen from any place on the Earth.
